Dental Implants Gaithersburg, MD

If you are missing one or more permanent teeth, dental implants can help. Dental implants consist of a titanium screw, attaching abutment, and a dental crown. As one of the longest-lasting dental restorations, implants help patients renew the full function of their bite.

Dental implants can replace single missing teeth or secure dentures or dental bridges to restore whole arches of lost teeth. Dr. Stan Nova places single-tooth implants and can offer multiple implants for placing implant dentures and bridges.

As an experienced restorative dentist, Dr. Stan offers comfortable and efficient implant dentistry to patients missing one or more permanent teeth. He is committed to ongoing training to learn the best treatment methods to restore his patients’ smiles.

What Are the Benefits of Dental Implants?

There are many advantages to implants. Some of the advantages of choosing dental implants as your restoration include:

  • Offer permanent results
  • Improve the bite
  • Retain bone tissue
  • Improve face shape and structure

Please contact Nova Dental if you are missing permanent teeth. Implants can replace one or all of your lost teeth and restore the look and feel of a natural bite. Replacing missing teeth at the jawbone supports the face and combats problems like premature facial sagging.

Single Tooth Implants

Dr. Stan can offer same-day single-tooth replacement using a dental implant. This is the result of advanced treatment planning using digital diagnostics to determine the best placement of the implant. Single-tooth implants offer the most natural replacement option, unlike traditional options such as a dental bridge. Once in place, you can eat and speak with confidence.

Multiple Tooth Implants & Implant Dentures

When replacing several consecutive teeth or a full arch of teeth, dental implants can be strategically placed to secure your custom appliance. Dr. Stan helps patients with more complex tooth replacement needs to ensure the best result. In our office, we always do our best to preserve the natural tooth structure as much as possible while providing patients with a natural-looking permanent restoration.

Dr. Nova uses advanced technology, a non-surgical technique, and the highest-quality implants. He can help you restore your smile’s function, comfort, and appearance after tooth loss.

Dental Implant Process

Before beginning the implant process, we will consult to ensure you have enough jaw bone structure to support implants. If you do not have enough bone structure, we can perform bone grafting to give you more support. During the initial consultation, we will take x-rays and discuss each step of the implant process to ensure you know each step before beginning.

We will place an implant after we ensure you have enough bone structure to support implants. First, we will surgically insert implants into the jaw bone. This will take some time to heal, so you must wait until you have healed to have the rest of your implant and restoration attached. It typically takes 3-9 months for the implant to heal.

Once you have healed, we will attach an abutment to the implant. This is what is used to connect the implant to the restoration. After your gums have healed from the placement of your abutment, we will attach your restoration. Depending on your needs, we will attach a crown, bridge, or dentures to the abutment. These are fabricated in a dental lab and are custom-made to match your natural teeth’ exact size, shape, and color. Your restoration will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile.

Once your restoration has been placed, patients may leave our office with a fully functioning and aesthetically pleasing smile. It may take some time for patients to adjust to their new restoration, but you should feel back to normal after a few weeks. Many patients report increased self-confidence after getting implants, as they are more comfortable speaking and smiling!

At any point during the implant process, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our office. We are happy to answer any questions and help problem solve if you have any concerns.

Flapless Dental Implant Treatment in Gaithersburg, MD

Dr. Stan uses CBCT scans to plan precise implant placement. Digital x-rays also allow us to see the nerves, bones, and jaw. With this technology, we can find additional dental problems and address them before implant treatment.

Dr. Stan does not need to make incisions in the gums to access the jaw bone. Flapless implant surgery places the implant posts directly through the gums and into the jaw bone. He uses anesthetic and dental sedation so you will not feel any pain during your implant treatment.

Dr. Stan will take impressions used to create the dental crown, bridge, or denture prosthetic. While the implant heals, technicians will make the permanent restoration in a local lab. The restorations use high-quality porcelain materials that match the shape and color of natural teeth.

How To Care For Implant Restorations

Dental implants support dental crowns, dental bridges, and dentures. Patients must still brush and floss between restorations at and above the gum line. Even if patients miss all of their natural teeth, bacteria can build up on dental restorations, leading to problems like gum disease.

Directly after patients receive implant restorations, they must avoid hard or crunchy foods. Sticking to a soft diet for several days after treatment minimizes pain and sensitivity. In our office, we can teach you how to use traditional floss or an interdental brush to clean around the restoration. We will also avoid using metal instruments on implant restorations at routine dental cleanings.
